Trenton SWAT Clubs Promote Healthy Choices at “Friday Night Done Right”
October 24, 2025
This quarter, our Trenton Middle and High School SWAT (Students Working Against Tobacco) clubs proudly participated in Friday Night Done Right, a youth-focused event hosted by the local Drug Coalition. The goal of this event is to encourage students to choose positive, healthy activities while resisting negative peer pressure. A perfect alignment with SWAT’s mission to promote a tobacco-free future for Gilchrist County youth.

The event was held on the campus of Trenton Middle-High School and gave SWAT members the opportunity to set up an educational and interactive table for all students to visit. Our youth leaders put an incredible amount of creativity and effort into their setup. They designed educational posters, built their own tic-tac-toe game with a tobacco prevention twist, and handed out handmade “ghost” Blow Pops to everyone who stopped by and signed a pledge to stay tobacco-free.
To make the learning experience memorable, SWAT members also showcased some of our most impactful visual tools: the black lungs, Mr. Ick Mouth, and the phlegm jar. These hands-on visuals sparked meaningful conversations with students about the real health consequences of tobacco and nicotine use. Many students were shocked by the displays and that reaction opened the door for honest dialogue about making healthy choices.
Our Trenton SWAT youth did an outstanding job engaging their peers, educating them on the dangers of tobacco products, and reinforcing the importance of remaining tobacco-free. Events like Friday Night Done Right give our students a chance not only to learn and lead, but to create a positive ripple effect throughout their school community.
